Confessing Jesus
The Good News of God's Love
God says in His Holy Word:
- Romans 3:10 "There is no one righteous, not even one; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
- Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Hebrews 9:27-28 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
- 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
1. All humans are
liable to condemnation right after death because of their sin. Since
nobody knows the day of death, if you died today and then appeared before
God to be judged, what would you tell Him?
John
3:16 "For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.
Acts 5:30-31 The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead - whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree. 31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.
- You must confess Jesus as your savior in life because after death, you will have no other chance but to be judged.
Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved.
John 5:24 I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.
Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
- If you decide to confess Jesus as your Savior and Lord you will enjoy eternal life with God in heaven. If you refuse to confess you will be condemned to eternal punishment in hell.
Mark 16:15-16 Jesus said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
John 3:18 Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
- If you desire to confess Jesus Christ as your Savior Pray after me: Almighty God I recognize that I am a sinner and deserve punishment for my sin. I believe that Jesus Christ has paid for my sin on the cross and was risen to save me. I repent of my sin, I ask you to forgive my sin and accept me through the righteousness of Jesus Christ. I turn the control of my life to you to be my Lord. I thank you for justifying me and adopting me as your child. I ask you to sanctify me by your Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible. In the name of Jesus Christ my Savior and Lord I pray.
God has heard and granted your petition in this prayer. You are now a child of God. As such you should:

- Enjoy His goodness (John 10:10; Psalms 23:1)
- Join an evangelical church (Matthew 16:18)
- Fellowship (1 John 1:3; John 17:21,24; Heb 10:25)

- Pray regularly (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
